The history of hemp
The history of hemp dates back thousands of years and is deeply interwoven with the development of various cultures and societies. Hemp was cultivated in Asia 10,000 years ago and used for food, fibers and healing purposes. In ancient China, hemp was used as a raw material for clothing, paper, and medical applications.
Hemp was also valued as a valuable crop in Europe and North America for centuries until it was largely ousted from agriculture in the 20th century due to legal restrictions. Today, hemp is making a strong comeback and is appreciated and used worldwide for its sustainable, health-promoting and versatile properties.
